Terms and Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
These terms explain the basis on which RobGeog Education provides educational consultancy, curriculum and resource development, professional learning and geography tutoring services.
RobGeog Education is operated by Robert Chambers, a sole trader based in England. References to “I”, “me” or “my” in these terms mean Robert Chambers trading as RobGeog Education.
1. Using this website
The information on this website is provided to explain the services I offer and is intended for general information only. Visiting the website or submitting an enquiry does not create a contract or commit either party to proceed.
I aim to keep the information on the website accurate and current, but services, availability and prices may change. Any specific arrangements will be confirmed separately in writing.
2. Enquiries and Bookings
Submitting an enquiry does not constitute a confirmed booking.
Before work begins, I will normally confirm in writing:
-
the nature and scope of the service;
-
any agreed deliverables;
-
dates or timescales;
-
fees and expenses;
-
payment arrangements; and
-
any applicable cancellation or rescheduling terms.
A contract is formed once the proposed arrangements have been accepted in writing by both parties, or when payment is made where advance payment is required.
3. Consultancy and educational services
The precise scope of consultancy, curriculum development, professional learning or resource-development work will be agreed in writing before the work begins.
Any changes to the agreed scope, deliverables or timescale may require revised fees or completion dates. These will be discussed and agreed before additional work is undertaken.
Advice and recommendations will be based on the information available at the time and on my professional judgement. Schools and organisations remain responsible for decisions about their curriculum, policies, staffing, assessment and implementation.
4. Geography tutoring
Tutoring arrangements, including the frequency and length of sessions, fees, payment arrangements, cancellation policy and expectations between sessions, will be confirmed with the parent, carer or adult student before tutoring begins. The majority of tutoring sessions are online via Microsoft Teams.
Tutoring is intended to support a student’s knowledge, reasoning, geographical skills and examination confidence. While I will provide carefully planned and personalised support, I cannot guarantee a particular examination grade or academic outcome.
Where the student is under 18, the contract will ordinarily be with their parent or carer.
5. Fees and payment
Fees will be confirmed before a booking or project is agreed.
Invoices must be paid within the period stated on the invoice or service agreement. Any additional costs, such as agreed travel, accommodation, materials or venue expenses, will be identified in advance wherever reasonably possible.
For work undertaken for schools, trusts and other organisations, I reserve the right to charge statutory interest and permitted recovery costs on overdue commercial invoices where applicable.
Current UK rules allow statutory interest on qualifying late business-to-business payments at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, together with specified fixed recovery costs. Proposed reforms were progressing through Parliament in 2026, so this clause should be reviewed before publication and periodically thereafter.
6. Cancellation and rescheduling
Cancellation arrangements will depend on the service being provided and will be confirmed before the booking is accepted.
Where I need to cancel or rearrange a session or agreed engagement, I will give as much notice as reasonably possible and will offer an alternative date or refund any payment made for services that cannot be delivered.
Nothing in these terms affects any statutory cancellation rights that apply to consumers.
Parents and adult students who arrange tutoring remotely may have a statutory 14-day right to cancel the agreement. Where tutoring is requested to begin during that period, I will ask for confirmation that the sessions may start, and fees may remain payable for any tutoring already provided.
7. Educational resources and intellectual property
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, I retain copyright and intellectual-property rights in resources, presentations, frameworks, templates and other materials that I create.
Clients may use materials supplied as part of an agreed service for the purposes and audience specified in the relevant proposal or agreement.
Materials must not be:
-
sold, published or distributed commercially;
-
uploaded to publicly accessible websites or shared drives;
-
substantially reproduced or adapted for use outside the agreed organisation; or
-
passed to third parties,
unless written permission has been given.
Where work is commissioned specifically for publication, commercial distribution or transfer of ownership, the relevant intellectual-property arrangements will be agreed separately in writing.
8. Client materials and permissions
Clients are responsible for ensuring that they have permission to share any documents, data, examination materials, student work, images or third-party resources supplied to me.
Where student work or other personal information is shared, it should be anonymised wherever possible and transferred using an appropriately secure method.
9. Confidentiality
I will treat non-public information received through an engagement as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties unless:
-
disclosure is authorised;
-
it is necessary to deliver the agreed service;
-
the information is already lawfully public; or
-
disclosure is required by law or necessary for safeguarding purposes.
Clients must also respect the confidentiality of any non-public materials or information I provide.
10. Safeguarding
I take safeguarding concerns seriously. Where a concern arises while I am working on behalf of a school or organisation, I will follow its safeguarding procedures and report the concern promptly to the appropriate Designated Safeguarding Lead or safeguarding contact.
In other circumstances, including private tutoring, I may share relevant information with an
appropriate safeguarding professional, local authority or emergency service where I believe this is necessary to protect a child or vulnerable person. Information will be shared only where appropriate and on a need-to-know basis.
For tutoring involving a student under 18, arrangements for communication, parental or carer involvement and the online learning environment will be agreed before tutoring begins.
11. Data Protection
Personal information submitted through this website or provided in connection with a service will be handled in accordance with my Privacy Notice.
The Privacy Notice should remain a separate document because UK data-protection guidance requires you to explain matters including why information is processed, how long it is retained, who it may be shared with and the individual’s information rights.
12. Use of artificial intelligence
Where artificial-intelligence tools are used to support planning, drafting, analysis or resource development, their use will follow the principles described in my Responsible Use of AI Statement.
Professional judgement, checking and quality assurance remain central to my work. Confidential, sensitive or personally identifiable information will not knowingly be entered into public generative-AI tools without an appropriate lawful and secure basis.
Please see my separate Responsible use of AI page. for further details.
13. Liability
I will provide services with reasonable care and skill.
I am not responsible for losses arising from:
-
decisions made contrary to the advice provided;
-
inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by a client;
-
changes made to materials after delivery;
-
interruption caused by events outside my reasonable control; or
-
the performance of third-party services, platforms or technology.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or a consumer’s statutory rights.
14. Insurance
I maintain appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance for the services I provide. Evidence of cover is available to clients on request.
15. Complaints
I aim to resolve concerns fairly and promptly.
Any complaint should initially be sent to robchambers@robgeogeducation.co.uk, setting out:
-
the service concerned;
-
what has happened; and
-
the outcome being sought.
I will acknowledge the complaint and aim to provide a substantive response within a reasonable period.
(acknowledgement within three working days and a full response within fifteen working days).
16. Events outside reasonable control
Neither party will be responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances outside their reasonable control. These may include serious illness, travel disruption, extreme weather, failure of essential technology or other unforeseen events.
The affected party should notify the other as soon as reasonably possible, and both parties will seek an appropriate alternative arrangement.
17. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms where my services, working arrangements or legal obligations change. The version applying to a booking will normally be the version provided or available when that booking was confirmed, unless a change is agreed in writing.
18. Governing Law
These terms and any contract between us are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction in relation to any dispute.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, this does not affect any right you may have to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
