Information I collect
Depending on the nature of your enquiry or the services provided, I may collect:

information included in enquiries and correspondence;

feedback, complaints and records of agreed work.

For tutoring, I may also collect:

the student’s name, school, year group, examination board and course;

target grades, mock examination grades and learning priorities;

relevant information about learning needs;

attendance, lesson notes, progress information and student work;

safeguarding information where a concern arises.

How I collect information
Information may be collected:

from a parent, carer, student, school, trust or commissioning organisation;

through documents, assessment information or student work supplied for an agreed service;

Why I use informationÂ
I use personal information to:

prepare proposals, contracts and invoices;

maintain financial and tax records;

resolve complaints or establish and defend legal claims;

operate, secure and improve the website;

send optional promotional communications where permitted.

My lawful bases will normally be:

pursuing legitimate business and safeguarding interests;

consent, where consent is required, including for certain marketing and non-essential cookies.

Where health, disability or other special-category information is necessary, I will use it only where an additional lawful condition applies.
Tutoring Agreements
Tutoring agreement will be with parent/carer and administrative and contractual communication will normally take place with the parent or carer. Where direct communication with a student under 18 is appropriate during the tutoring period, this will be agreed with the parent or carer, who will normally be copied into substantive correspondence.

Online tutoring will mainly take place through Microsoft Teams (unless otherwise agreed). Sessions are not normally recorded. A session will only be recorded where this has been agreed in advance and the purpose, access arrangements and deletion date have been explained.
Schools and organisations
Schools and organisations may provide student work, assessment information, staff details or other project materials.
They should anonymise or minimise personal information wherever reasonably possible and use an appropriately secure method when transferring identifiable information.
When I work on behalf of a school or organisation, the respective data-protection responsibilities may also be set out in the relevant agreement.
Who receives information
Where necessary, information may be processed or shared with:

Wix, which hosts the website and contact form;

Microsoft services, including Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams;
-
Google Analytics, where the visitor has consented to analytics cookies;
-
banks, accountants, insurers and professional advisers;
-
schools, trusts or other organisations involved in an agreed service;
-
safeguarding professionals, local authorities, police or emergency services where appropriate;
-
HM Revenue and Customs, courts, regulators or other authorities where legally required.

I do not sell personal information.

Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, I will rely on an appropriate lawful transfer safeguard.
Artifical intelligence
I may use artificial-intelligence tools to support the preparation, checking or development of educational materials.

Identifiable or confidential information about students, parents, staff, clients or organisations will not knowingly be entered into public generative-AI tools.
How long I keep information
I normally retain:
-
unsuccessful or general enquiries for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact;
-
tutoring records for the duration of tutoring and up to three years afterwards;
-
consultancy project records for up to six years after completion;
-
contracts, invoices and financial records for the period required for accounting, tax and legal purposes;
-
session recordings, where exceptionally agreed, only for the stated purpose and agreed period;
-
safeguarding or complaint records for longer where the circumstances require it.

Information may be deleted earlier where it is no longer needed or retained longer where required for a legal claim, tax enquiry, safeguarding matter or unresolved complaint.
Â
HMRC requires self-employed business records to be retained for at least five years after the relevant 31 January Self Assessment submission deadline.
Security
I use proportionate security measures, including password-protected accounts and devices, access controls, passkeys or multifactor authentication where available, secure cloud storage and appropriate deletion procedures.
Marketing
I may send occasional promotional emails only where this is permitted by law.

Marketing choices will be separate from enquiries and service bookings. You may unsubscribe or withdraw consent at any time.

Children’s personal information will not be used for direct marketing.
Cookies and Analytics
The website uses Wix technology and may use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site.

Non-essential analytics cookies will only be used where the visitor has consented through the website’s cookie controls. Further information will be available through the Cookie Notice and cookie-management settings.

Wix states that its cookie tools can allow visitors to accept or decline non-essential cookies and can prevent Google Analytics from collecting information before consent.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to:
